Kathryn Ross Wright came into this world on August 22, 1985. She departed this world on July 15, 2020 at the young age of 34.
She was the daughter of Charles Dennis Wright and Drucilla Ross Neeley Wright. She was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
She and her family resided in Van Buren, Missouri where she went to school, learned to swim in Current River, enjoyed many, many float trips with her friends, took ballet lessons and graduated from Van Buren High School.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dennis Wright, her uncle, Michael Louis Wright, her aunt, Betty Wright Russell, her grandfather, Harold Louis Wright, and her maternal grandparents, Fred. G. and Barbara Ross Wilks Neeley, all from Caruthersville.
She leaves behind a grieving mother, Drucilla Ross Neeley Wright Miller McPhail, one grandmother, Jean Wright, 3 daughters, Hannah Jane, age 11, Terra Maire, age 9, daughter’s of Wade Wicker, and Dallas Joan, age 6, daughter of Ronnie Prater, Jr. all of Caruthersville. Two loving sisters, Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Wright Richardson, of Illinois and Laura Marie Wright Lancaster of Caruthersville.
She had much to look forward to – she would have attended all her girls extra curricular activities throughout the many fun-filled years. She would have been a proud mother to see them mature into beautiful women and watch them graduate from high school and perhaps college.
By no fault of her own Katie left this world too early and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
She will be buried in Little Prairie Cemetery on the Wilks family plot.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be given to the Caruthersville Humane Society, a mental health crisis center, or a victims of violent crimes center.
