Willie Bell Parnell
Willie Bell Parnell was born December 26, 1938 to the late Mary Smith and Sylvester Jennings, Sr. of Sledge, Mississippi.
Willie Bell attended the MS School System’s Como High School in Como, Mississippi. She was a homemaker, caring for her children. She attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Black.
On June 19, 2020 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Missouri, she made her transition.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Smith; her father, Sylvester Jennings, Sr.; four brothers, Leroy, John, Henry Lee, and Eugene Jennings,; three sisters, Georgia Cobb, Rosa Cobb, and Dorothy Jean Wilburn; two daughters, Mary Ellen Parnell, and Marilyn Parnell; one son, Henry Parnell, Jr.; and one great-grandson, A. J. Warren.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Shirley Parnell, Sheila Parnell, and Angela Parnell, all of Caruthersville, Missouri; one sister, Mary Weldon of Inkster, Michigan; one brother, Sylvester Jennings, Jr., of Alton, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held June 26 with Pastor Barbara Rodgers officiating in the H.S. Smith Chapel.
Interment in Morgan Ridge Cemetery
