Mrs. Virginia Stewart was born June 3, 1952 to the late Robert Sr. and Ruthie Stewart in Miner, Mississippi. Educated in Caruthersville, she attended Booker T. Washington. A home-maker and mother of seven, she loved to cook. Baking was one of her many talents and she was known for her cakes and pies. She was always there when others needed her, looking out for her siblings and friends always lending a helping hand to whomever she could, all while raising her own family.
Sister Virginia accepted Christ as her savior and was a devoted member of Progressive Church of God and Christ under the fellowship of Elder Roosevelt Martin, Jr. She served as a faithful member, supporting her church in any way she could be of assistance until she departed this life on January 27, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
She leaves to cherish her memory seven children, sons: Peter Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Lance Stewart, and Eugene Kenny, Jr. all of Caruthersville, Missouri. Daughters: Lawanda (Randall) Stewart of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kimberly Kenny and Simona’ Stewart of Caruthersville, Missouri. Brothers: Lonnie Jackson of Hayti, Missouri, Walter Stewart and David Stewart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sisters: Ruthie Stewart of Texas, Dorothy Jones (Levon) and Margie Stewart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Along with her parents brothers Milton and Roger Stewart and sisters Eddie Mae Higgins and Annette Stewart preceded her in death. In addition to her children and siblings she leaves behind to mourn her passing grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 12:00 p.m. at the Divine Holiness Church with Elder Roosevelt Martin, Jr. officiating. Interment in Morgan Ridge Cemetery.
