Rosa Marie Fisher

Rosa Marie Fisher was born March 9. 1922, in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late William Norman and Mamie Ball Norman.

She departed this life in Caruthersville, Missouri, on June 21, 2023, at the age of 101.

On June 22, 1940, in Portageville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Amos Lee Fisher. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2002.

Rosa worked at Brown Shoe Company for many, many years prior to her retirement.

She loved working in her yard and was extremely proud of it. She was awarded yard of the month by the local garden club many times. Rosa especially enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was an active member of the Temple Baptist Church where her church family was a joy to her and loved them dearly.

She is survived by one daughter: Brenda Trowbridge (Ronnie) of Caruthersville, Missouri; nine grandchildren: LaRae Ganch (Bill), Dana Dunn, Todd Trowbridge (Emily), Jamie Fisher, Alayna Fisher, Randall Fisher, Kerri White (Glenn), Ed Knisely (Tammy), & Heather Knisely; 15 great grandchildren; eight great, great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Mamie Norman; her husband: Amos Fisher; a son: Randy Fisher; a daughter: Gaye Fisher Currier; a grandson: Richard Harvey Knisely III; four brothers: Robert Henry Norman, Herbert Avon Norman, Delmar Norman, & Darell Davis; and one sister: Nina Frances Divenney Barks.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in the H.S. Smith Chapel in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating. Interment followed in Maple Cemetery.

The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in Bridgeton, Missouri.
