Michael Cowen Medlin
Michael Cowen Medlin was born May 6, 1943 in Kennett, Missouri. He was the son of the late Jimmie Neville Medlin and late Mary Jewel Cowen Medlin.
He departed this life at his home in Caruthersville, Missouri on November 30, 2018. He was 75 years old.
Mike attended Kinfolks Ridge and Caruthersville schools, graduating in the High School class of 1960.
On August 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Judy Neely Medlin. She preceded him in death in 1992.
Mike, affectionately known as “Pop”, had a special place in his heart for his family, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and loved following everyone through the many phone calls, pictures and texts.
Mike had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, and puttering in his shop were high up on the list. He was also a daily world and business news watcher and history bluff.
He was a retired farmer and an electrician by trade, working at Noranda Aluminum Company for approximately 17 years.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Mike is survived by his two daughters, Beth Bailey of Caruthersville, Missouri and Lisa (Temple) Drummond of Tampa, Florida. Also, five grandchildren – Leslie (Trey) Linsman, John Michael Bailey, Sara Drummond, Seth Drummond, and Luke Drummond. Two Great Grandchildren – Bailey Linsman and Ella Bailey. A brother, Danny (Jane) Medlin and nephews, Jimmie Medlin and Charles Medlin. A very special aunt – Doris Cowen. A special friend – Mary Jo Beecy. Many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Jimmie and Jewel Medlin), his wife (Judy), three sisters – Ernestine Morgan, Jimmie Rose Gann, and Shirley Camp Hemingway, and one brother – Lynn Medlin
