Leora Everett Curtis

Leora Everett Curtis was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, on January 1, 1925.  She was the daughter of Christopher Columbus Crumley and Carrie Mae Nelson Crumley.

She departed this life in Gideon, Missouri, on October 16, 2023.  She was 98 years old.

Leora enjoyed working in her yard and especially her garden.  She was known for keeping a very clean house.  She enjoyed going fishing with her husband, Forest, but didn’t fish.  She would be sitting in the shade reading a book.  She loved playing with and teaching her son, Robert.  In fact, she was playing football with him and broke her finger trying to catch a pass from him.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Survived by one son: Robert Everett of Hayti, Missouri; one granddaughter: Katie Lee Everett of Hayti, Missouri; two great grandchildren with a third on the way; a niece: Kaye McMullin (Gary) of O’Fallon, Missouri; a great niece: Madison McMullin of O’Fallon, Missouri; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: Forest Everett; her second husband: Boyd Curtis; three sisters; and three brothers.

Graveside services were held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenny Lee in Maple Cemetery.
