Lee Miller Dorroh

On Friday, March 25, 2022, Lee Miller Dorroh, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 91.

Lee was born on November 13, 1930 in Caruthersville, Missouri to wonderful parents Aileen Miller Dorroh and Charles Dorroh. Lee attended Caruthersville Schools. He earned the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award which was presented by then President Harry S. Truman.  Lee earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Missouri. Lee served in the United State Air Force and was stationed at O’Hare Field in Chicago, Illinois and in Denver, Colorado.   On June 1, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville, Lee was united in marriage to Elizabeth Joy Largent.   They celebrated nearly 68 years of a beautiful marriage.  To this union was born five children:  Charles William, James Lee, Cynthia Marie, Lawrence Gerard, and Richard Joseph.

Upon his graduation and service in the Air Force, Lee and Betty returned to Caruthersville to join his father and brother in the family hardware and farming business, Charles Dorroh and Sons.  Lee was eventually joined in business by three of his sons and the name was changed to Dorroh Seed and Supply.  Lee was known for the love of his family, his church, and his community and its people.  Over the years, Lee served his church in many capacities, on the Caruthersville School Board, and on the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital Board. 

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Aileen and Charles Dorroh, his brother Frank Mark Dorroh, his sister Margaret Jane Glozier, and one grandchild Steven Lux Dorroh. 

Lee is survived by his wife Betty Dorroh; his children, Charles Dorroh and his wife Glenda of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, James Dorroh and his wife Marilyn, Cynthia Hodge and her husband Jim, Lawrence Dorroh and his wife Tena, Richard Dorroh and his wife Debbie all of Caruthersville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jimmy Dorroh, Christopher Dorroh, Caroline Dorroh, Scott Dorroh, Ginny Tony, Lauren Hodge, Gray Hodge, Chase Hodge, Svetlana Dorroh, Matthew Dorroh, Justin Dorroh, and Will Dorroh.  He is survived by great grandchildren Avery, Lleyton, Londyn, Miller, Marcy, Garner, Eliza, Charlotte, Porter, Isabelle, and Roger Dorroh, Jaxon, Olivia, and Sadie Toney, and McKenna and Mary Beth Hodge, and Alexander Staley.  Lee is also survived by his much loved nieces and nephew; Diane Dorroh Smith, Mary Lynn Dorroh Bellott, Linda Dorroh Buller, Paul Carmean, and Cathy Carmean Fonda, And Many Friends.

Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Jerry Mattson, will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church in Caruthersville, Missouri, followed by burial in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
