Johnny Brad Johnson

Johnny Brad Johnson was born in Hayti, Missouri, on April 16, 1959.  He was the son of Jerry Bradshaw Johnson and Myrna Alston Johnson.

He departed this life on March 17, 2023, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  He was 63 years old.

Johnny B loved the Lord and was a wonderful Christian man.

On March 26, 1983, in Caruthersville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Debra Ann Allen. 

Johnny B was a man that loved his family dearly.  He coached all his daughters in the Caruthersville Softball League and also served as the commissioner of the league for many years.

He was known for his great sense of humor.  He loved going deer hunting every year, always to the same spot.  His hunting group included wonderful friends, nephews, and grandkids.  He also loved fishing.    Johnny B was always up for competing in a lawnmower pull.  He enjoyed playing the harmonica and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.  (He also loved the cheerleaders.)

He is survived by his mother: Myrna Johnson; his wife: Debra Ann Johnson; four daughters: Penny Sams, Sheena Emery (her husband, Michael), Carla Phelps (her husband, Jason), & Johnny Marie Owens (her husband, Mickey); four siblings: Cindy Traylor, Randy Johnson, Vanissa Pate, & Jeremy Johnson; eight grandchildren: Autumn Sams, Hunter Sams, Kaylei Phelps, Laken Emery, Mitchel Phelps, Connor Phelps, Amelia Johnson, & Abigail Emery; a special aunt Joyce; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Jerry Johnson; and two brothers: Jerry B. Johnson II & Teddy Roy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the H. S. Smith Chapel in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating.  Interment to follow in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.  H. S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
