Joey Don Rogers

Joey Don Rogers was born September 21, 1959 in Hayti, Missouri.  He was the son of the late Bob Rogers and Lane Roberts Rogers.  In 1964, Bob and the Good Lord brought Joey a new mother, Patricia Malone Rogers.

Joey departed this life in Benton, Arkansas on October 9, 2019.  He was 60 years old.

Joey attended schools all over the country starting at McCarty R-3, then Alaska, Panama City, FL, Caruthersville (while his dad served in Vietnam), Ft. Worth, TX, Omaha, NE, then Gosnell, AR where he graduated in 1977.

In 1978, he was united in marriage to Virginia Kelso, who is the mother of his only child, Rita Kay Rogers. 

Joey graduated from Cleveland Institute of Electronics in 1982 and advanced to computer program engineer working most of his career in sawmill machinery for Harvey Engineers and Baxley Equipment in Hot Springs, AR.  Joey’s career took him to Ireland, Mexico, Canada, Chile, Australia and many different states.

Joey enjoyed driving fast cars, listening to and playing rock and roll music on his guitar, reading, helping others, and spending time with family.

His daughter – Rita Kay (Larry) Rogers – Benton, AR

His mother – Pat Rogers – Gosnell, AR

1 sister –Arlinda (Robin) Boyd – Paragould, AR

2 brothers – Jeff (Janya) Rogers – Rogers, AR

Greg (Beverly) Rogers – Gosnell, AR

His maternal grandmother – Manell Dudney – Caruthersville, MO

3 stepsons – Eric Mitchell, Mark Dalton, Corey Dalton

5 nephews, 2 nieces, other relatives and many friends

He was preceded in death by his father – Bobby G. Rogers, and his mother – Lane Roberts Rogers.
