Jerry Winston Hilburn, Sr.

Jerry Winston Hilburn, Sr. was born February 9, 1949, at Cottonwood Point, Missouri. He was the son of Isom Hilburn and Gracie Green Hilburn.

He departed this life on October 19, 2023, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was 74 years old.

In October of 1971, Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Susan Ayers.

Jerry had a big personality. He was known for telling jokes but even more so for always wanting to get the last word in. He was very generous and always willing to help people out. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, but his greatest love was his family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Hilburn; six children: Barbara Carol Gurley (Martin Buchanan), Wendy Sue Pietrzykowski, Jerry Winston Hilburn, Jr. (Beth), Jennifer Annette Bullington (Chris), Amy Dawn Kelley (Chris), & Justin Daniel Hilburn (Kim); one sister: Bonnie Fennell; two brothers: Steve & Billy Ray Hilburn; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, five sisters and two grandchildren: Jace & Hadley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating.
