Jean Ann James
Jean Ann James was 79 years and 7 months at her death. Jean Ann resided in Caruthersville until her death on Thursday, December 26. She was born on May 18, 1940 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Her parents were Tommy and Imogene Frakes of Steele, Missouri.
Jean Ann graduated from Steele High School in 1958. She graduated from Arkansas State University with a teaching degree and spent many years educating young children who still called her over the years to thank her. August 17, 1962, she married Hugh Ellis “Buddy” James at First Baptist Church in Steele, Missouri.
Jean Ann taught at Southside Elementary until its closing, then taught at Westside until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed family time, traveling to the beach, “rolling over” the Mississippi River Bridge, grandchildren, and just being with family and friends.
She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Jean Roberts (husband, Chad Roberts), Lesley Ann Lint (husband, Greg Lint), and Beth Elise James, three grandchildren, Ginny Kate Bryant, Jon Reagan Bryant, and Olivia Clementine Gaal, her brother, Jim “Butch” Frakes (wife, Connie Frakes), nephews Jamie Frakes, Jeremy Frakes, Richard Bowers, Bobby Frakes, and their loving families.
She was proceded in death by her adoring husband, Hugh Ellis “Buddy” James, her son, Scott Ellis James, and her parents, Tommy and Imogene Frakes
