James Malcolm Mills

 James Malcolm Mills, 70, of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ar. James was born July 26, 1948 in Caruthersville, Mo., to the late Murry Mills and Marilyn Ruth Clark Mills. On April 22, 1967 in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Rita Branum Mills and together they had 3 sons. James and Rita enjoyed traveling together, working in the ministry and spending time with family and friends. James joined the Navy in 1965 and served his country with pride. His willingness to serve continued with his years on the police force and fire department in Caruthersville, Mo. Most recently James worked as a certified Minn Kota repair specialist with son, Jeremy. In addition to time spent with family and friends, James enjoyed Crappie fishing, tinkering, watching westerns and grilling out. In 1985 James surrendered to preach and earned a Masters in Theology from Great Commission Theological Seminary. James pastored churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri in his 31 years of ministry and was currently the pastor of Stanfield Missionary Baptist Church. Preceding James in death were his parents; sister, Wanda Fay Moore and dear friend and cousin, Ron Maddax of Pensacola, Fl. In addition to his loving wife, James is survived by his three sons, James Jr. (Beth) Mills of Ozark, Mo., Shawn (Jessica) Mills and Jeremy (Miranda) Mills; brother, Phillip (Joyce) Mills and sister, Marilyn (Ken) Talley; James also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Ashley Mills, Matthew Mills, Haylee Mills and Ben Mills, his dear nieces & nephews as well as a host of cousins; all of whom will dearly miss James. Funeral services held Sept. 26 at 2:00 in the H.S. Smith Chapel with James Todd and Tony Allen officiating.  Interment in Maple Cemetery.  

Pall bearers: Missy Stevens, Ken Talley, Kevin Talley, Steven Maddax, Matthew Mills, Chris Stewart, Mark Brantley. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 with James Todd and Tony Allen officiating and burial to follow in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo. Pallbearers will be Missy Stewart, Ken Talley, Kevin Talley, Steven Maddax, Matthew Mills, Mark Brantley, Chris Stewart.
