Irene May Hardy
Irene May Hardy was born March 19, 1932 in New Madrid, Missouri. She was the daughter of Woodrow Curtis and Ruby Ellen Smith Curtis.
She departed this life on May 6, 2018 at the Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was 86 years old.
Irene worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell for many years.
On October 30, 1959 in Caruthersville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Fred Hardy. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2016.
Irene had many hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, doing needlepoint, and baking. She loved spending time with her family and her friend.
She was a very active member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school class and went to a weekly bible study class

Step son – Joe Hardy (Tiffany) and a step grandson – Zach Hardy – all of Beaumont, TX
A sister-in-law – June Curtis – Jonesboro, AR

She was preceded in death by her parents (Woodrow and Ruby Curtis), her husband (Fred), and a brother (Chuck Curtis)
Funeral services were held May 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mattson and Ed Reeves officiating. Interment in Little Prairie Cemetery.
