Ida Phyllis Watkins Tarpley Criswell

Ida Phyllis Watkins Tarpley Criswell, 81, of Caruthersville, Missouri/Haines City, Florida, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and known worldwide as the best damn hair dresser in Southeast Missouri and most of all, a friend went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2018. 

Ida was born August 8, 1936 in Micola, Missouri and grew up in Pemiscot County, Missouri.  She attended Caruthersville public schools and graduated in 1954.  Ida was an avid golfer and friend to all.  She loved being a hair dresser. 

Ida was married to C.L. Criswell, her soul mate, golfing buddy and best friend for 43 years who preceded her in death.  She is survived by her brother Alvin Hall Watkins, sons, Audie (Karen) and Scott, Cole and Greg.  Twelve grandchildren-Justin, Zach, Adam, Matt, A.J., Sumerlin, Christian, Dakota, Aurora, Jackson, Caroline and Harrison and one great grandchild – Abel and a host of loving relatives including her beloved niece Ritta Jane!  She is preceded in death by her father Bayard Schindel Watkins, Sr., mother, Maudie Pearl Watkins, siblings Bayard Schindel Watkins, Jr, William Van Watkins, Stella Virginia Gill, Charles Ritt Watkins, Ralph Daniel Watkins, Donna Kay Watkins. 

Funeral services were held Monday, March 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Mattson officiating.  Interment in Maple Cemetery.
