Robert Frank Hollomon
Robert Frank Hollomon was born in Kennett, Missouri, on June 2, 1948. He was the son of the late Jack Hollomon & Louise Wicks Anderson.
He departed this life at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on October 23, 2021, at the age of 73.
Frank attended the Caruthersville Schools, graduating in the High School Class of 1966.
On January 2, 1968, he was united in marriage to Jeanie Cantrell.
Frank was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Caruthersville where he was an Elder and long time Sunday school teacher. He always had a pocket full of candy and a big smile for everyone he greeted.
He worked for Southern Towing Company for many years. He considered his coworkers friends and enjoyed working so much he did not want to retire. One of the biggest highlights of his career was having a towboat named after him, the motor vessel Frank Hollomon.
Frank had many hobbies and interests throughout his life which included bowling, volunteer firefighter, chili competitions and a member of the library board to name a few. He also loved playing golf with his friends and his son for many years. Frank was a prominent member of our community and even had a pizza named after him at Little Pizza Heaven.
His number one priority was his family and he loved them beyond compare. He rarely missed an event of his children and grandchildren, dressed in red and white, red and blue, maroon and white or yellow and blue. He was truly their biggest fan and would drive any distance, rain or shine, to see them. He loved his family and they loved him!
He is survived by his wife: Jeanie Hollomon of Caruthersville, Missouri; one son: Shayne Hollomon & his wife, Trina, of Caruthersville; one daughter: Shonda Young & her husband, Jamie, of Caruthersville; four grandchildren: Thomas Young of Sarasota, Florida, John Robert Young of Oxford, Mississippi, Lillie Hollomon of Murray, Kentucky, & Adi Young of Caruthersville; and a number of other relatives & many, many friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 12:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Caruthersville, Missouri with Rev. Ricky Lyle officiating. The interment was in the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville. Pall-Bearers were Scott Avis, Jason Long, John Martin, Jeff Montgomery, Clay Morgan, Steve Ray, Bill Reno and Randy Wingfield.
H. S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of the arrangements.
