Emma Newton
Emma Newton was born July 9, 1927 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Montie Rogers and Bessie Hicks Rogers.
She departed this life on November 15, 2018 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was 91 years old.
On August 17, 1945 in Caruthersville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Newton. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Emma was known as an excellent gardener especially for the roses she grew. She also loved dogs, quilting and was a wonderful cook. She was a very very witty person.
For many years she was a member of the Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church. She began attending the Temple Baptist Church after moving to town.
Survived by 2 sons – Kenneth Newton (Nova) – Cape Girardeau, Missouri
- Dale Newton (Johnnie) – Sikeston, Missouri
1 daughter – Diane Ford (Sonny) – Cape Girardeau, Missouri
2 grandchildren – Michael Newton, Chris Ford (Tina)
1 great grandchild – Zeana Ford

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sisters, 4 brothers and a granddaughter – Michelle.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment in Little Prairie Cemetery.
