Elmer Lee Woods, Jr.
Elmer Lee Woods, Jr. was born in Lexington, Tennessee, on September 22, 1936.
Departed this life at his home in Caruthersville, Missouri, on April 24, 2023, at the age of 86.
He was the son of the late Elmer Lee Woods, Sr. & Nora Mae Hays Woods.
Elmer attended schools in the Caruthersville area.
On November 16, 1959, in Kennett, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Helen Pauline Storer. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2017.
Mr. Woods enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time along with antiquing and going to flea markets.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Karen Tyson of Barnhart, Missouri, and Carol Daniel & her husband, Shad, of Caruthersville; three grandchildren: Barb Hygail (John) of Sullivan, Missouri, Bobby Lee Hoke (Jess) of Catawissa, Missouri, & Justin Tyson (Kimmie) of Barnhart, Missouri; six great grandchildren: Haylee Hoke, Tyler Hoke, Brock Tyson, Blayne Tyson, and Finley Hygail. Robert Hoke, III preceded him in death; one brother: James (Gail) Woods of Iron Mountain, Missouri; one sister: Mary Fae Fanning of Oxnard, California; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and many friends. Mr. Woods was also preceded in death by five brothers, Leon Woods, Sr., Gary, Ray Von, Wayne, and Marshall along with one sister, Clara.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. The interment will follow in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.
