Dollie June Harrison

Dollie June Harrison was born August 31, 1937 in Kennett, Missouri.  She was the daughter of Hershel Melvin Cummings and Ora June Eades Cummings.   

She departed this life at her home at Stubtown, Missouri on February 22, 2018.  She was 80 years old. 

Dollie was united in marriage to Mr. Edward Eugene Harrison in Piggott, Arkansas.  They were the parents of four children.  He preceded her in death. 

Dollie, along with her parents, ran Cummings Store at Stubtown. 

 In addition to being mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her own children she also was that to many other kids including her brother’s six kids that she helped raise..  She was known far and wide as “Granny Dollie.”  Her house was always full of kids that loved being there.  She was known for her cooking skills particularly biscuits and gravy.  She made at least 585,000 biscuits just for grandkids and great grandkids.  

She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church. 

Survived by 4 children – Karen Dodd (Stan) – Caruthersville, MO 

-Lynn Harrison – Caruthersville, MO 

– Kim Hefler (Chris Avis) – Caruthersville, MO 

– Kristy Hill (Jeff) – Jefferson City, MO 

9 grandchildren – Kara Kingston, Krystal Drone, Kyle Helfer, Matt Dodd, Justin Hill, Jeremy Harrison, Kelly Jo Suiter, Kaylyn Hefler, Michael Dodd 

19 great grandchildren and one more baby girl on the way 

Many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

Funeral services held Sunday, February 25 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.  Interment in Maple Cemetery. 

Pall bearers:  Kyle Hefler, Matt Dodd, Justin Hill, Jeremy Harrison, Michael Dodd, Logan Green, Keaton Kingston. 

H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
