Carolyn Jones Moody

Carolyn Jones Moody was born in Hayti, Missouri, on February 25, 1938. She departed this life at the Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on February 11, 2022, at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late Elvis Carroll Jones & Lottie Blankenship Jones.

Carolyn attended Caruthersville Schools, graduating in the High School Class of 1956.

On January 25, 1959 in Hayti, Missouri she was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Moody. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2015.

Her interests included reading and drawing. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by three brothers: Elvis (Janet) Jones of Florence, Alabama, John (Susan) Jones of Iuka, Mississippi, Jim (Connie) Jones of Memphis, Tennessee; four sisters: Mary Hicks of Columbus, Ohio, Linda Davis of Columbus, Ohio, Janet Jones of Columbus, Ohio, & Debbie (Tony) Hood of Hayti, Missouri; and a number of other relatives & many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Moody; her parents: Carroll & Lottie Jones; two sisters: Anita Malone and Wanda Brantley; and one brother: Alan Jones.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 1:00 pm with Dr. James Adams officiating. The interment was in in the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri. H. S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
