Carolyn Bell

Carolyn Ann Bell went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2019 at Hayti Memorial Hospital in Hayti, MO.

Carolyn Ann Bell was born to the late Coy L. Smith, Sr. and Mae Helen Smith in Hayti, MO on July 28, 1974.  Carolyn was the third eldest of eight children.  She was raised in Caruthersville, MO and attended elementary, middle, and high school in Caruthersville, MO and received her high school diploma in 1992.  While living in Oklahoma, Carolyn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

She obtained the Licensed Practical Nurse credential and was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 20 years until she was medically retired in 2015.  She loved her patients and the staff that she worked with at multiple nursing homes in Oklahoma City, OK.

Carolyn was a loving mother of four children from her union with Joe L. Bell, Sr.  Her children are Johnny Smith and Joe L. Bell, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, and Joevonte and Carlee Bell of Hayti, MO.  Carolyn also had one step-daughter Joneisha Warren of Dyersburg, TN and seven grandchildren.

Carolyn wore many hats throughout her life – she was a daughter, sister, aunt, mentor, confidante, caregiver, lover and friend.

Carolyn Ann Bell was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Coy L. Smith, Sr. and mother Mae Helen Smith, her sister Angela Jones, and a host of other relatives.  She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Joe L. Bell, Sr. her four loving children, Johnny Smith and Joe L. Bell, Jr of Oklahoma Ciety, OK, and Joevonte and Carlee Bell of Hayti, MO, her step-daughter Joneisha Warren, her seven grandchildren and six siblings, Johnny Jones (Markeida) of Fort Meade, Maryland, Kevin Jones of Cape Girardeau, MO, Carolyn Bell of Hayti, MO, Elizabeth Smith of Caruthersville, MO, Coy L. Smith, Jr. of Waldorf, Maryland, Cheryl Morgan of Del City, OK and Kimberly Smith of Caruthersville, MO and her grandmother, Ms. Pearline Jones of Poplar Bluff, MO, aunts and uncles, Roberta Geiger and Dorothy Jones of Cape Girardeau, MO, Martha Taylor (Edward) of Hayti, MO, Charles Jones (Linda) and Marie Jordan (Robert) of Cape Girardeau, MO,  Michael Jones (Loretta) of Evans, GA and Marvin Jones (Corinthia) of Caruthersville, MO, Georgia Mae Smith and Silas Smith of Caruthersville, MO, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.  Carolyn will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Funeral services at New Life Deliverance Temple Pentecostal Power Church on June 1 at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Tommy Cobb.  Interment in Morgan Ridge Cemetery.  Pallbearers:  Malik Jones, George Taylor, Phillip Jones, Felix Jones, Edward Taylor, Mitchell Jones.
