Delphine Wynona Williams Pendergrass

Mrs. Delphine Pendergrass passed away Friday, May 24th, 2012 at her residence in Caruthersville, Missouri at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 16 days.

Mrs. Delphine was born March 8th, 1927 in Crockett County Tennessee to Jerry Williams and Rosa Carter Williams. She was united in marriage to Albert Pendergrass on February 12th, 1947 in Piggott, Arkansas.

Mrs. Delphine was a graduate of Caruthersville High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and took great pride in raising and nurturing her family. Even as her family grew she still found time to work at Brown Shoe Company for 27 years before their closure. She was a devoted member of Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church and was active in Church functions as well as numerous community activities.

Mrs. Delphine is survived by her sons’, Jerry, Danny and Floyd Pendergrass, her daughters’, Rhonda Graham, Cheryl Swindle, Melinda Morgan and Kim Pylate, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Delphine in death was her husband, Albert, and her parents, Jerry and Rosa Williams.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Pendergrass were; Brandon Irions, Paul Crysler, Robert Malin, Gary Phillips, Roger Phelps and Danny Smith.

Visitation for Mrs. Pendergrass was Saturday, May 26th, 2012 in the Chapel at H.S. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services were held immediately following the visitation in the Chapel with Reverend Adrian Knipper and Pastor Kenny Lee officiating. Interment was in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
