Arnita Ann Hopkins

Arnita Anne Rodgers Hopkins, 54 years old, of Moore, Oklahoma, was called home to glory.  Arnita was the 5th child born to the union of Clifford Giles and Geneva Margaret Rodgers Portwood.  She was affectionately raised by her mother, Geneva Portwood.

Her father, mother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, a sister-in-law, a granddaughter and a brother preceded her in death.

Arnita was born January 28, 1963 in Caruthersville, Missouri.  She departed this life on May 28, 2017 at her home in Caruthersville.

Arnita graduated from Caruthersville High School and married Jesse Hopkins, III in 1981 while he was serving his country in the U.S. Navy.

Arnita loved to cook, dance, spend time with her family, listening to music, and was a team mom for the little league football team.  She was passionate and loved being around children.  She also loved gardening, shopping and beautifying her home.  She was a licensed respite provider for the Department of Family Services.

She confessed her hope in Christ at Paradise Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Roseborough.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, friend, partner, and “love of her life” Jesse Hopkins, III; four sons, Jesse Hopkins II, Roderick Germaine (Rahmeka) Hopkins, Justin Kadeem Hopkins, and Sabastian Giles Hopkins, and a daughter, Devin Katherine (Zachary) Hariston, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three sisters, Shirley (Tommy) Cobb, Patty Isable, both of Caruthersville, Missouri; and Marilyn (Danny) Coleman of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Curtis (Shirley) Rodgers of Atlanta, Georgia; 30 grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  She was loved by so many people.
