Helen Dorothy Sherwood

“Mrs. Helen” was born July 26, 1925, in Tyler, Missouri.  She was the daughter of Clyde Holmes and Tennie Anna Hopper Holmes.

She departed this life on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Crystal Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Festus, Missouri.  She was 91 years old.

“Mrs. Helen” was a lifelong resident of Tyler, Missouri.  After attending Cooter school system, she was employed as a telephone operator.

On July 28, 1949, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Ralph Clinton Sherwood.  He preceded her in death on June 10, 2008.

She had many hobbies that included bird watching, gardening and crossword puzzles.  Her most loved and important hobby was loving her 3 grandchildren. 

She was the last living member of the Fanner Bees.  She was member of Cooter Methodist Church.

Survived by – 2 daughters – Emma Sue Jinkerson and her husband, Allen – Hillsboro, Missouri

 

Sherry Lynch (Her deceased husband, Andy) – Overland Park, Kansas

3 grandchildren – Anna Lee Jinkerson – Washington, D.C.

 

Aaron Sherwood Jinkerson, and his wife, Sarah – Wentzville, Missouri

Andrew Clinton Lynch – Overland Park, Kansas

Many relatives and many, many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents – Clyde and Tennie Holmes, her beloved husband – Ralph Sherwood, her brother – Kenneth Holmes

Graveside services were held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.  Rev. Todd Holman officiated.
